In the globalization process of the World, English, proceeding on the way to become a unifying factor of the people belonging to various languages and cultures, and to become the common communication language, has reached its current status after covering a significant distance, when its historical improvement is taken into consideration. The process of becoming a globalizing language, that has undergone an evolution throughout the history and its probable status in the future has been the main focus of much research.

With the aim of analyzing the globalization processes of English from an academic perspective and with the aim of making contributions to the researches, Istanbul Gelişim University will hold “ I. International Foreign Languages Symposium” on May 26^th, 2017 under the title “Globalization of English Language”, with the participation of academicians coming from Turkey and various countries around the World. The principles that enable the issues to be analyzed in a variety of aspects, will be examined in the light of historical improvement, and proceeding processes.
